Another great day and some amazing judo from our fighters today at the NW Closed Championships. Everyone medalled and some of the bronze and silvers were due to more than one of our fighters in the same groups.

🔈 Important Announcement ‼️‼️
Due to work going on in Studio 2, training times are changing:
Wednesday: 6pm - 7.15pm
Thursday: 7pm - 8.15pm
Saturday: 10.30am - 12.30pm
All training will take place in Studio 3, which is (funnily enough) next door to Studio 2
Work begins on the 29th of April, so times will be normal until then
The work is set to finish 17th of May

We were honoured to have the Mayor and Mayoress visit our grass roots judo competition, present medals and make a presentation to Kagan Barker for his exceptional results over the last 2 years promoting 'INCLUSIVE' (Special Needs) Judo. Congratulations to head coach Dave Baldwin!
During a visit last night by 6th dan Tony Jones, chairman of the AJA East Midlands area and assistant National Coach, Dave was awarded his AJA 4th dan.
Tony came to visit the club to see what we do, then stayed for the start of our monthly randori night after presenting Dave with his certificate.

Congratulations to cousins Matty (WJC Nork/Banstead) and Daniel (WJC Carshalton) on their success's representing England at the Commonwealth Tournament in Malta. Taking a bronze for Matty in the under 100 kilos and a Silver for Daniel in the Plus 100 kilos.

Head coach Liam delivered a Judo session to Coulby Sport Taekwondo players today. They are a really high level level taekwondo club and cater from beginners all the way to GB level.
If you want to get involved they train Mondays (Langdon Square Community Hub, Coulby Newham) and Thursdays (Impact Fitness Zone, South Bank), 5:30-7:00pm.
