[...] In this episode, Mike and Gene interview Mike Swain, one of the most successful American Judo competitors. In 1987, Swain defeated Toshihiko Koga and Marc Alexandre to win a gold in the World Championships. He also competed in four Olympic games, winning the bronze in 1988 and a number of World Championships. Just in major international competitions, his record includes six gold medals, eleven silver medals, and nine bronze medals. As a competitor, Swain was known for his elegant classic Japanese style. He is an alumni of San Jose State Univeristy, where he studied under Yosh Uchida, and in 2005, Swain and the SJSU Judo Executive Committee established The Swain Scholarship, the first judo athletic scholarship at a major American university. Yosh Uchida has been interviewed twice on TJP, including Episode 28 and Episode 32.
I havent minded the new rules but the hansoku-make for touching someones leg is the stupidest thing so far.

I dont even think Shido is justified for grabbing the trouser but I could live iwth it but when a simple touch of the thigh gets you DQed, it is ridiculous.

I can count about 12-15 times that Ive seen someone disqualified for simply touching a leg.
Both the severity is overblown and touching and grabbing are two different things.

It seems like the end is cut off? Is the last sentence really, "survival mode is a big one"?
